Everyone has their own musical journey
Since learning to play the recorder, singing in primary school assemblies, listening to music on vinyl, watching musicals, attending performances at Leeds Grand Theatre, I wanted to sing/perform.
Pre-teens, I was bought a simple electronic organ and loaned an acoustic guitar. Guitar soon turned out to be my favourite.
In my teens/early 20s, the allure of the stage was cemented in my mind by seeing musical idols on stage around the North of England.
After starting my first job in Hull it wasn't long before I made musical friends in Hull and became a member of several rock cover bands - vocals/electric guitar. In parallel, I'd not forgotten my love for singing and became a member of a local amateur dramatic society, performing Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.
Moving back to Leeds, I married and became a father four years later.
Still feeling as though there was much to do and learn, I decided to study Music Theory, Guitar Performance and took exams in both. Shortly afterwards, I realised I would need to invest in a PA System and recording equipment, plus learn how to use them - so I took evening classes in Music Technology.
So started the journey of moving from electric to acoustic guitar and becoming the vocalist, guitarist, performer I am today.
